just a wee bit stir crazy with the viral conjunctivitis. did leave house today: deposit check, uncover more monies in there already than suspected, procure cash, coffee soymilk, plain organic cream on top yogurt, peanut butter clif bar, suprisingly not so yummy hummus sandwich, surprisingly not so yummy apple & cheese danish, cigarettes. walk in rain with joanna newsom CD that my dear friend, portland peter, sent to me with a letter that i have cataloged and MARC recorded and will soon assign dewey & LC call numbers too. hey catalogers/library school folks out there, what do i do? is the subject the fact that it's a letter/correspondance? or is it the content of the words in the letter? "aboutness" aschmoutness. i'm going with "correspondance" but then am i the subject? or is peter? and what the hell are our call numbers??? we don't have subject headings . . . yet. i can foresee a day when peter could have his own subject heading. he's one of the best poets ever, in my biased and completely uninformed opinion.
